Camera Types

Standard Body:

Professional or Standard Body Security Cameras offer several advantages over other CCTV camera body styles. Being the original CCTV Security Camera body style Standard Body Cameras are still in use worldwide and offer an amazing range of features.

The Bullet Security Camera is an ideal camera for many security applications. They are easy to install, discrete, and low cost. Bullet cams are typically smaller cameras that are just over 2 inches long and resemble a bullet shell casing. Bullet cams utilize CCTV technology. Bullet security cameras can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications. Bullet Security Cameras are available in black & white, color and in a variety of configurations and sizes. They utilize the same technology found in larger cameras only the parts are miniaturized to fit in a small enclosure.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom Cameras also known as PTZ cameras are excellent devices to use when you want to 'look around' your surveillance area. PTZ cameras allow you to pan a parking lot, tilt up and down and zoom in on anything or anybody within the sight of the lens. PTZ cameras can be set to automatic or manual mode or both. In automatic mode, hundreds of points can be set for the camera to look at. The duration that the camera looks at a given set point can be adjusted from less than a second to as long as you would like. There are some variances in different models. Some have 17x zooms while others have 50x zooms or more.

Dome Security Cameras are generally ceiling mounted or wall mounted and can easily be overlooked or mistaken for motion sensors or light fixtures.
Ceiling mounted Dome Security Cameras truly are the 'EYE in THE SKY' because they can point in any direction up to 360°. No one really knows which way the camera is looking. Dome Security Cameras can be manually adjusted at any time to monitor other directions. If you want to automatically adjust the direction of the camera, utilize PTZ Dome Security Cameras. Dome Security Cameras range from very low cost up to  $10,000 for high end PTZ, Explosion Proof cameras. You can get a good color dome camera for less than $200.

Infrared Cameras:

Infrared (I.R.) is a good fit for areas with virtually no light that only need coverage in a limited or confined area. I often make the analogy that using an I.R. camera is like walking around into the pitch dark with a flashlight: The smaller the flashlight the smaller the visible area. It’s this simple concept that makes I.R a good fit for a limited area as it allows for respectable coverage without a big “I.R. flashlight”

Of course if that large area must be covered with I.R technology it can be done. Just be prepared to budget accordingly as the large banks of I.R. emitters necessary to cover large spaces can become quite costly.

But even if the budget will allow and all other aspects of your situation make it seem like an I.R. camera is a good fit, keep in mind that any two identically secured areas, the space with the least lighting is going to be the space most targeted by thieves. It could then be argued that if the  primary goal of your system is  to deter crime and reduce loss this instantly puts the “I have no light at all so I need an I.R. Camera” theory at a disadvantage as compared to a Low Light solution backed up by any amount of lighting.

IP Cameras:

IP security cameras can be connected directly to a network with an Ethernet connection (cat-5). Our IP cameras have built in video servers so that surveillance video can be viewed directly from the camera over the internet using Internet Explorer.  There is no need for a DVR or video capture card in order to broadcast the surveillance video over the Internet. Our IP video servers turn any CCTV camera (with a standard BNC output) into an IP based network camera (Ethernet output).
